Reading Patrol is a free program geared to children ages 5 to 11 that builds a foundation of knowledge and trust for our youth and strengthens their relationship with the police department. Reading and literacy are key factors in school retention and graduation rates and it is never too early to develop a lifelong love of reading!

Reading Patrol will be held on the 2nd Saturday of every month from Noon-2pm. One of the police officers from North Charleston Police Department will be reading a story to our kids with a craft or activity to follow.

Begins on Saturday, April 14th from Noon-2pm in the Children’s Department. For our first event Police Chief Reggie Burgess will be here to read a story!
