Must Love Books: Orchestrating a Love Affair Between Reading and Kids in any Classroom (an Educator Appreciation Event)
The projected needs of the 21st Century Workforce call for greater literacy and demand higher benchmarks. However, the struggle to instill a passion for reading seems to remain a timeless challenge for educators of all grade levels.
Join us on Sunday, April 22nd at 9:30 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, Bridgewater for an intimate discussion about children and literacy you’re not soon to forget. Experienced presenter and educator Nicole Mancini will lead this meaningful panel discussion featuring award-winning author Sally J. Pla (The Someday Birds, Stanley Will Probably Be Fine), Melissa Roske (Kat Greene Comes Clean), and Rob Vlock (Sven Carter & the Trashmouth Effect).
Panelists will share their thoughts on building a strong reading community in the classroom and their personal experiences falling in love with reading and books.
Topics will include: Skype visits and connecting with authors via social media, supporting reluctant readers, the importance of free choice independent reading in a high-stakes content area. Time will be allotted for a brief question and answer session. Personalized autographs/ book signing and photo opportunities with the panel’s authors will be conducted as time permits.
