Learn Lasercutting basics by designing and making Weird and Wonderful Easter Animals....
Easter is a time of spring when animals, insects, plants and other living things emerge from hibernation. Things “come to life” again!
We invite you to attend a series of Easter workshops that will each show you how to unleash your creative, design and technical skills to make Easter animals. They can be either imaginary, from your favourite books, comics or stories using FabLab tools.
In each workshop, we encourage you to make a new creature unique to the tool to be used. Come to one workshop, come to two, come to all three, whatever you want!
In this workshop session you will design a 2D character and then use the laser-cutter to make silhouettes of your design as a puppet, or stencil in paper, cardboard or wood.
To inspire you during the workshop you will be encouraged to use books, magazines etc in the library to give you inspiration.
One rule for each workshop, is that they must include an Easter Egg shape in any way you want! (see example)
We will then do some exciting surprise things with your creations including working with the green-screen here to add an image background photograph or drawing!
If you would like, you can get together with others who have made animals to make a story that we can use with the green-screen!
Suitable for children over the age of 8.
