The Woodbridge Township 39th Annual Senior Citizen Art Show & Exhibition
May 5– May 14, 2018 Closing Reception: May 14, 2018 ~ 6-8pm
The Barron Arts Center presents The Woodbridge Township 39th Annual Senior Citizen Art Show, a project to enhance the life of Seniors 60 and over. The exhibit runs May 5-14, 2018 with a closing reception and award ceremony Monday, May 14, 2018 ~ 6-8 pm, hosted by Mayor John E. McCormac.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Resources and the Evergreen Senior Center in Colonia, the Sycamore Senior Center in Port Reading, the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission chaired by Dr. Dolores Capraro Gioffre with support from the Woodbridge Township Arts Council and Mayor John E. McCormac.
The competition was open to any resident of Woodbridge Township 60 years of age or older. Participants were encouraged to submit up to three pieces each for the show. Acceptable art work had to be from one of the following categories: oil; acrylic; watercolor; pastel; printmaking; drawings including pencil, pen & ink, chalk and charcoal; mixed media including collage; photography and sculpture.
There are two classifications exhibited in the show, both non-professional and professional. Separate awards will be made in each classification.
All work is the original creation of the artist.
A reception for the artists and the public will be held at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, a disabled accessible building, on the closing day Monday, May 14th from 6-8pm. The exhibition opens on May 5th from 2-4 pm and continues through May 14th. Gallery hours are: Monday through Friday 11 am - 4 pm and Saturday and Sunday 2-4 pm. Closed Holidays.
