The Art Base presents artist Jack Wheeler for a reception at the Basalt Regional Library during Basalt’s 2nd Fridays Artwalk. Check out Jack’s colored pencil
renderings of local wilderness and wildlife and enjoy refreshments at the library on your way to the Art Base’s Healing Process exhibition opening!

As a 30+ year resident of the Frying Pan River Valley on the Double Diamond Ranch adjoining the White River National Forest, Jack takes his artistic inspiration from the scenic beauty that wilderness represents and the abundant wildlife that inhabit this mountain area. His art is a realistic, close-up view of the magnificent back-country and the creatures that dwell there.

Colored pencil is Jack’s medium of choice. His artwork was recently represented at the Colori Art Gallery in Basalt, CO. He is a member of the Glenwood Springs Art Guild, and has received numerous art awards at exhibitions there. A career in the building industry in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley as well as Beaver Creek and Hawaii delayed his artistic endeavors until retirement. Now, he looks forward to expanding contacts in Colorado.

Jack Wheeler’s work will be on view in the Basalt Regional Library art display case during the month of April, 2018. The Art Base works in collaboration with the library to curate monthly exhibitions featuring local artists."
