What's Your MOS?" - a special presentation aimed for veterans, their families and community members on military occupational stress (MOS) and how it impacts the service member's readiustment to civilian life. This special presentation is scheduled for Friday, May 4 beginning at 1900 at the Baymont Inn & Suites, Mandan, as part of the inaugural convention for the Marine Corps League-Department of North Dakota and it is free and open to the public.

The quest is to address the language being used - 'a normal reaction to an abnormal situation'. Serving in the military is 'not' being in an abnormal situation - it is raising [your] awareness to a new level of normalcy.

As Marines, our lives changed the moment we stepped on those yellow footprints, the same would hold true for soldiers, airman and sailors - in their respective boot camp experiences. Those that serve in prolonged periods of a combat environment, again, your daily interaction is not 'different' its at a new normal (from what you experienced before this sustained exposure).

It is not our purpose to create a cure for mental health issues - it is our quest to create a better understanding - for the veteran and for their family.
