2018 Summer Reading Program

The statewide Summer Reading Program theme is “Libraries Rock!” Each week we are going to bring you a fun, free, and fascinating program. The program will start each Wednesday in June at 9:30am next door at the community center. There will be free books and other prizes so make sure to register so we will have enough to go around!

June 6th Gulf Coast Exploreum
The Gulf Coast Exploreum’s Science Squad will perform an array experiments. They will be sure to kick off the summer with a BANG!

June 13th Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps
Coming straight from their weeklong camp in Gulfport, Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps will be performing with their 30 person drum line. They are the best of the best so be prepared for it to get loud!

June 20th Ben Harper of Mobile Symphony
Miniature Mozarts and budding Bachs will be able to hear, see, touch and learn to make sound on musical instruments. Members of the Mobile Symphony Orchestra engage young children with a hands-on introduction to the instruments of the orchestra, including brass, wind, strings and percussion.

June 27th Musical Extravaganza
We will be closing out our program with a fun filled musical extravaganza! There will be fun to be had and music to be heard!
