Be a part of Ode's community art project, inspired by stories of standing out, fitting in and finding your way.
Explore what belonging means to you during an art-making workshop led by Ally Karsyn, the founder of Ode, a live storytelling series where community members tell true stories on stage to promote positive impact through empathy.
We'll start with a short meditation and group discussion on belonging. Art supplies will be provided, including a 7-by-7 inch piece of mixed media paper as your canvas.
PERSONALIZE your project. Come with your favorite quote or poem, craft paper, newspaper clippings, feathers, duplicate* photos, photocopies* of letters and other mementos.
*All items will become part of Ode’s community art project and will NOT be returned.
Artworks will be strung together and displayed on a decorative archway, which will serve as a backdrop for the live storytelling event, themed "Belonging," in Sioux City on June 1 and in Orange City on July 4.
