Advanced Pyrography Workshop with Cynthia Gibson

This workshop is for participants who have taken the introductory workshop with Cynthia or who have experience with pyrography. Cynthia will discuss design implementation,placement of design, more advanced pyrography techniques and the addition of color.
Participants should bring several small bowls, vessels or other wood objects to embellish. The pieces will need to be well sanded to at least 600 grit. Wood choices to include Maple, Madrone, Cherry, Pear, Holly or other tight grained timber with no finish or sanding sealer applied. Participants should come with an idea of the design they would like to create on their pieces.
Cost $275. per person ($250. for members)

About the Instructor:
Cynthia Gibson first discovered wood burning many years ago while in Norway, and with study, has created her own unique style of pyroengraving.
“I am enchanted by the aesthetic of wearable art and fashion design," Gibson says. "The arts of Asia have always been a strong inspiration. Creating personality through adornment is so satisfying for me."
Cynthia's collaborative work is included in noted corporate and private collections and has been published in journals including American Craft Magazine, Pyrography Magazine, American Woodturner, Charleston Magazine, Woodturning UK, British Woodworking, Woodworker West, Kokeshi Trends, and Creative Wood New Zealand.
She has presented for prestigious seminars and conducted classes in Norway, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Hawaii, and England as well as throughout the US mainland.
