In 1988, Roderick Wolgamott and Ben Ireland began their musical partnership as post-punk/psych rock band, Sky Cries Mary. This April, they will premier a series of their collaborative paintings, with a live performance of some previously unreleased electronic music.
Mixed media on wood paintings showcase an eclectic mixture of street art, poetry, calligraphy, and spirituality. These compositions and accompanying songs, offer visual and sonic insights to their early artistic influences including the Berlin school, artists like Kraftwerk, Faust, Terry Riley, Tangerine Dream, and David Bowie.
Paintings and a limited number of autographed prints will be offered for sale, as well as a rare and out of print publication. Appetizers and light refreshments will be served in an intimate gallery setting.
