There will be two speakers from the geographic region east of the Mediterranean, referred to as the Levant:

Hala Awad, from Jordan, came to US in 1994 and has lived in Beaverton since 1997.
The Human Rights Advisory Commission (HRAC) for the City of Beaverton organizes Cultural Conversations throughout the year in pursuit of our mission to promote mutual understanding and safeguard the rights of all community members. Beaverton is an incredibly diverse city with community members representing different backgrounds. In an effort to promote respect among community members, HRAC presents individuals from varying circumstances to discuss their experiences and promote understanding that the more we know about each other the easier it will be to treat everyone with the same dignity and respect.
