Mid-Season: Preparing for Dearth. May 26th, 2018 10am-5pm

Summer is upon us and the bees are endlessly busy. Deepen your skills in hive care according to Biodynamic standards as we explore behaviors of the bees throughout the season and what we need to do in response. How can we as stewards support the life of the honeybee during the heat and among the environmental stresses? Pre-register by May 19th, if possible.

Keith Gelber is a self-taught craftsman and beekeeper from the East Coast. He is also a trained Waldorf teacher and works with the therapeutic craft curriculum of the Ruskin Mill Educational Trust. For the last 13 years he has been tending the Honeybee Biodynamically through an innovative and loving approach. As the founder of BDBees, he is currently the only Demeter-certified beekeeper in the states. The apiaries he cares for are located among the Sierra Foothills and Sacramento Valley at various schools and farms. With devotion for the Honeybee and his gift of teaching, Keith is a rare ally of Apis Mellifera.
