Monday 4/16

7-9pm Dynamic Trio Acro
Come learn a progressions for trio acrobatic swings, banquine, and maybe even a pass the flyer sequence. Bases will learn proper swinging technique and spotting up to swinging a flyer to shoulder stand. Fliers will learn form for swings and will progress from swings to standing on the floor all the way to swinging to shoulder stand. Pre-requisites: comfort in l-basing candlestick/shoulder-stand or bicep stand.

Tuesday 4/17

7:30-9pm Quest for the Press
This workshop will cover the theory and practice needed to progress over time and gain a press handstand. Participants will be given tools needed to approach their challenge to press handstands on their own, whether the limitation is compression, flexibility, or strength. No matter your skill level participants will be given the tools and programming to overcome barriers to unlocking their press handstand.
- Prerequisites: Full body weight bearing on hands, no wrist/elbow/shoulder/spinal injuries. Endurance of a 1 minute in plank or handstand.

Wednesday 4/18

7-9pm Aerial Straps Level 1 & 2
This workshop will focus on the fundamental techniques for safe and effective training of aerial straps, though most exercises will greatly increase your power and control on other apparatus. We will warm up our shoulders and core using a set of exercises designed to pre-habilitate and strengthen the shoulders.
The fundamental skills students will cover are static positions (meathook, inverted straddle, nutcracker, croc, support, flag, and side balance). The end of the workshop will focus on 2 and 1-arm spinning using the dynamic technique of flares to invert to different positions.
This workshop will be beneficial for first timers and aerial artists who work on other apparatus.
- Prerequisites: 2 arm inversions of any kind (straddle-up, tuck-up, pike-up) 1-arm hangs with engaged shoulder for 30 seconds, and 30 second wall handstand or 1-minute plank.

Aaron Koz is a traveling movement and circus coach previously based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Moving from Washington, D.C. to NYC, he began Circus Warehouse’s intensive program, and has studied under different coaches in SF, Montreal, and Mexico. He draws from his background in neuroscience and psychology to augment his work as a coach and personal trainer. He has collaborated heavily with physical therapists to help augment and structure his teaching offerings.

During 2018, Aaron will continue working with physical therapists who have experience working with gymnasts, circus artists, and other high level athletes to further add to his understanding and knowledge of biomechanics, movement prep, and injury prevention.
