Belmont Abbey College presents a lecture by Rev. James H. Murphy:"An Irish Catholic Odyssey: From the Counter-Reformation to 1900."

James H Murphy, CM, is Director of Irish Studies and the Center for Irish Programs at Boston College. A native of Ireland, he has written or edited over a dozen books, including Ireland. a Social. Cultural and Literary History. 1791-1891. In this lecture, he will discuss modern Irish Catholic history and culture with attention to figures ranging.from St. Oliver Plunkett and Mother McAuley to Cardinal Newman and James Joyce.

The lecture is free and open to all.
