My House of Colour
This workshop will begin with viewing and drawing in the exhibition Marimekko: Design Icon 1951- 2018. Children will then move to the Gallery art space with
their page of inspirational patterns to design and collage their own fabulous house of colour. Using bright papers, felt, pens, stickers and stamps children will literally create a dream house and garden filled with a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours.

11:00am – 12:00pm Tuesday 10 April
1:30 – 2:30pm Wednesday 11 April

Funky Flower Pots
It’s time to plant so why not design you own funky terracotta flower pot. We will first go into the Marimekko exhibition to gather some ideas for our pot designs. In the Gallery art space children will then be encouraged to work with line, shape, repetition and colour to come up with a range of creative designs. Once complete children will choose their favourite design and using paint pens transfer this onto their pot.

1.30 – 2.30pm Tuesday 10 April
11.00 am – 12.00pm Wednesday 11 April

8 – 14 Years
These holidays we have organised a special 2 hour workshop with Guest Teacher Libby Noblet and RMIT School of Fashion and textiles.
The cost is $25.00 per child

Screen Printing
Children are invited to take part in a one- off screen print workshop inspired by the bold graphic elements of Marimekko textile design. Guest teacher Libby Noblet will begin by carefully outlining the screen printing process. Working in pairs children will then choose some stencil designs and colours and print these onto large fabric swatches. With so many designs to choose from these prints are guaranteed to impress. Maximum 10 students per workshop. BYO apron.
