School Writing Competition
Fire up your imagination the writing competition is heading your way!
This year’s writing competition is based on the theme of the Writer’s Camp – Narratives.
• K – 2 – submit a piece of writing.
• Year 3-8 – submit a short story (narrative).
Entries have a strict word limit of 400 words.
All stories must have themes and content suitable for children between 5 and 14 years of age.
Stories will be judged on:
o style and language
o creativity and originality
o story line and plot
o character development (as appropriate)
o effective editing
Teachers will judge school entries in 4 categories: K-2, Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4. Wining stories at school level will be eligible for entry into a community competition and will be displayed at the Town Library.
Entries close: Friday 11th May 2018 (Week 2, Term 2)
