This race has been held consecutively for four decades raising much needed monies for women’s services throughout Berkshire County. Each year the proceeds from the race registrations go directly to the agencies. Berkshire Running Center is thrilled to announce that The Elizabeth Freeman Center is now the primary beneficiary for the event. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Freeman Center as a direct partnership with the organizations support in the event promotions, functions and day of facilitation of the event ; providing all the volunteers and support for the added events.
“We are looking to take this historic race to the next level by making it an all-inclusive morning for everyone to be able to run and help celebrate women, our mothers and make a difference in our community by supporting the EFC in all their efforts in providing women, men and children with support, safety and security when they need it the most,” Race Director and owner of Berkshire Running Center. “This race is near and dear to many runners in the community; and to be able to have a supporting 5k that everyone can also join; bringing more attention to the cause we are supporting and honestly, to bring everyone that wants to run together, a win, win all around. Also, to provide a free event on a day that we all gather to celebrate the mothers in our lives is a sweet bonus”
The event this year will continue to feature the historically recognized longest held All Women’s 5k at 8:30am to be followed by the Everyone Can Run 5K at 9:30am and the Kid’s Fun Run at 10:30am.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is online at Berkshire Running Center www.berkshirerunningcenter.com/
The race hope to raise funds with the sale of the race shirts each priced at $20 with 100% of the monies raised going directly to the EFC. The hope is that those attendees that come to share in the event of the day that are able to perhaps purchase one shirt in lieu of race registration fees, support the cause and have a great day; while making it accessible for those who cannot afford to do so.
Registration opens April 1st.
