dBs Berlin is racing for change! Literally. We’re racing for some spare change to raise money for Chimbota Secondary School in Malawi and to make a positive difference in our global community.
Over the last 2 years, dBs Berlin has provided support for Chimbota Secondary School. It was built by the local community and before it existed students had to walk nearly 20 kilometers just to get to school (almost as long as the race we’re running!). The school is not supported by the state so they have to charge a small fee to students who wish to attend. Because the school is a community project, developing facilities takes more time and effort than most schools. It also means that teaching and learning resources are very limited.
What we plan to do is raise awareness and support for Chimbota Secondary School by participating in the S-25 relay on May 6th, 2018. This race takes place annually in Berlin, and involves a 5 x 5km relay that will be run by a team of students and staff from dBs Berlin. This is the first time dBs has ever raced in Berlin, therefore we really want to make this one count!
With your help, we can raise much-needed funds for Chimbota. Your donations can help to further develop their school facilities and provide necessary resources for teaching and learning. Show your support by sparing some change and making a donation today! https://chuffed.org/project/dbs-does-the-big-25
