The Northeast Michigan Artists’ Guild will open its annual exhibit at the Besser Museum on Saturday, April 14, 2018 with a reception from 3-5. This event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
NEMAG members select a theme for this event and participating artists create a work in their chosen medium relating to the topic. Based on a poem by an anonymous British author, “Whatever the Weather” was selected because it so accurately depicts how Michigan residents react to our four seasons.
Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold, or whether the weather be hot,
We’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
We offer a People’s Choice award for this exhibit. Votes cost $1 each, and the winner’s name will be drawn on Saturday, June 30th at 2pm during Log Cabin Days at the Museum. All money collected from voting will be donated to the Besser Museum.
The mission of the Northeast Michigan Artists’ Guild (NEMAG) is to promote and support art and artists through inspiration, information and education in our community and to support local artists through exhibits and shows of quality work as well as encourage novice artists. Artists in the Northeast Michigan Artists’ Guild range from just beginning to very experienced.
We invite everyone to view this exhibit from April 14 through July 28, 2018.
