Since 1998, the Big Bend Open Road Race has taken place on US Highway 285. This fun, high speed race runs from Fort Stockton to Sanderson and back, a total of 118 miles round trip. This year the race will take place from April 25 - 28th. There will be all types of cars racing, from jalopies to corvettes, some going 160+ mph. In addition to the race, there will be food, live music, a car show, parade and an end of race party. What makes this race so unique is not only the scenery, elevation and turns but also the opportunity to hang out with the fine folks of West Texas.
