The New Economy Credit Union Organizing Committee invites you to join us for Beer, Cheese, and Economic Justice! We are working to open a basic services credit union that will provide access to banking and credit to the communities of the 53212 zip code.
Our goal is to be a community focused financial institution that meets the needs of our underserved communities and provides an equitable alternative to the predatory payday lenders. We intend to provide financial services, foster new cooperative businesses, and organize toward economic democracy.
We are in the capitalization process and are working to raise the funds to cover the first three years of operating expenses. That’s where you come in! We hope you will join us as we drink beer, eat cheese, and raise the money necessary to bring this project to fruition.
WHEN: Tuesday, April 17, 5:30-7:30
WHERE: Black Husky Brewing, 909 E. Locust St
WHY: Because equal access to economic services is vital to successful communities, and besides, who doesn’t love beer and cheese? Black Husky Brewing is a locally owned and operated brewery in the heart of the 53212 zip code, and Heins Law Employment Practice is the official Cheese sponsor of this event.
