Join Catherine for a guided experience of your own amazing anatomy. Through yoga asana, sensory processing, discussion, movement “lab,” and 3D visual aids, we will explore this body that we live and breathe in with a sense of curiosity and appreciation. As a physical therapist, yoga therapist, and Bloom Yoga teacher trainer, Catherine brings awareness to anatomical considerations that may reduce the risk of injury and facilitate svadyaya (self-knowing) as it relates to your body’s innate wisdom.
Workshops can be taken as a series of as individual courses.
Session One: Finding your Foundation on Saturday, April 21st from 10:30-1:00PM
Lower body focus: Get into the muscles, bones, joints, and nerves of your legs! We will use examples of some of the most common aches in the lower body in order to fine-tune alignment and activation that keeps our feet, ankles, knees, and hips functioning at their best--on and off the mat.
Session Two:Fluidity in Action on Saturday, May 5th from 10:30-1:00PM
Spine and upper body focus: The many links of the kinetic chain of the spine and arms make it possible for us to interact with the world around us. With the most mobile joints in the body connecting our arms to our trunk, we can expand our reach! Using everyday motions and common yoga poses, find a balance of strength, mobility, and stability in your spine, shoulders, elbows, and wrists.
These workshops are appropriate for all levels and are available for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education for registered yoga teachers.
Workshop Cost: $50 each, or save $5 if registered 3 days in advance
