MARK "INTERESTED" OR "GOING" TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN WE SELECT THE SEPTEMBER DATE. Our monthly Really Really Free Markets are always at Miller Park by the train on a Saturday beginning at 10am.
How it Works ::: People drop things off they don't want. People take things they want. It's really that simple. Some people drop and go, some stick around to "shop," and some stick around to chat. You do not have to bring something to take something. Take all you want, give all you want. You don't need to trade, barter, ask permission, feel weird, or anything.
Events ::: We have two types of events -- one weekly-ish smaller event at the Sunnyside Community Garden & Food Forest at West..., and one BIG monthly event out at Miller Park. Check out our event listing for all the places, dates, and times.
Wait, it's all free? Why? ::: The idea is that we don't want useful "stuff" to end up in the garbage. Also, with all the abundance of "stuff" around us we think people could share "stuff" more and buy "stuff" less. Really Really Free Markets are all over the world. Give it a google.
RULES ::: You can bring ALMOST anything to this event. We just ask that you don't bring really big items (like furniture) and nothing gross (like dirty underwear). Some leftover items are donated to the Mission Mart, and others are saved for the next RRFM event.
Lastly... If you can't make it to our event, why not organize your own? Make a free shelf at your workplace, school, or community center. Is there a garage sale going on in your neighborhood? Why not set up a Really Really Free Market on your lawn to find good homes for all those leftover items that didn't sell?
