On Saturday, April 7, 2018, 1-3 p.m., Skyline Literacy will team up with Blue Ridge Community College and Church World Service to hold a free naturalization information session. The session aims to provide legal permanent residents and interested community members with information about the process of becoming an American citizen. Legal permanent residents can also take a formal eligibility screening, make appointments for application assistance, enroll in Skyline’s citizenship classes, and pick up free materials.
Gloria Williams-Brevard, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Community Relations Officer, will lead the session. Afterwards, she’ll be available to answer questions and elaborate on the information presented in the session. Ms. Williams-Brevard is a familiar face to both Skyline Literacy and Church World Services; they’ve been collaborating to bring the Valley accurate citizenship information and resources since 2010.
The free session will take place at Blue Ridge Community College, Houff Center (Room G186-188) located at One College Lane, Weyers Cave, VA. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the program will conclude at 3 p.m. Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Kurdish, and Tigrinya interpreters will be interpreting for the session. On-site childcare will be available for attendees’ children.
