Dive into the world of shoulder openers, backward bends and heart openers. This workshop is designed to guide you through the safe ways to open the upper back, the chest and the heart area. In yoga therapy, back extensions are designed to not only encourage suppleness in the spine, but also to strengthen the spine. You will be guided into the anatomy of heart openers, which muscles to use, how to take stress away from the joints and how to find the correct posture by using breath as a guide.

Back extensions will take you deeper into yourself, they will help you to let go of all the things no longer needed in the life, bringing joy and love in abundance. These postures focus on self love and forgiveness, helping you to release any anger, stress, tensions and pain, allowing you to attract more positive, stable and loving energy into your life.

We will learn how to use props to help in correct alignment of the body, aiding in the health and healing in the physical body. Before beginning we will have an asana practice to warm up the body so we can move safely through the postures.

By the end of this workshop you will feel more confident in practicing Back extensions and have the confidence to step out of the boundaries of your own conflicts of the mind, towards the purpose of yoga. Yoga is designed to bring you to the present moment, to bring Cessation of Mind. And through this workshop we will aim for bodily, breath and mind alignment so that you can release your emotional blockages and step into your inner joy.

6. Bitilasana
7. Urdhva Mukha Svanasana
8. Urdhva Dhanurasana
