Virgie Tovar is a fat activist, lecturer and the author of the forthcoming book, You Have the Right to Remain Fat, which will be out from the Feminist Press on August 14. She started the hashtag campaign #LoseHateNotWeight and has been featured by the New York Times, Al Jazeera, NPR, Self Magazine and Business Insider.
Angelina is a Fat Femme Mermaid. They are a recent graduate from San Francisco State University with a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Angelina recently wrote a one-person show entitled "Structurally Fat" where she performed the beauty and hardships of being Fat and interacting with structures, both social and physical. Angelina's work focuses on humanizing the Fat experience while honoring it's unique monstrosity. She currently teaches at Merced College where she teaches Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication. In their spare time, Angelina blogs about radical Fat acceptance and enjoys spending time with her queer family.
