Get your hands and feet dirty and have a memorable time learning all about rice cultivation in the best place possible – a paddy plot! Learn the art and science behind how rice is grown and find out how this Asian staple continues to influence cultures and communities worldwide.

For kids aged 7 to 12 only.


Dates: 29 April, 27 May, 24 June (every last Sunday of the month)

Time: 0930 to 1015 (45 mins)

Price: Early bird $12/child, Regular $15/child


In the event of a light drizzle and if participants are willing, the paddy planting session will go as planned. If there is heavy rain, thunder or lightning, we will do an indoor demonstration of paddy planting followed by a potting class (where you will take home a potted plant!)

What is the age requirement to participate in the event?
- This activity is open to all kids aged 7 to 12.

What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?
- From Kranji MRT take the Kranji Countryside Express bus (round trip $3/adult, $1/child or senior citizen) The full bus schedule can be found here: https://goo.gl/QV7Gs7. We don't recommend taking public transport as the bus stop is a long walk away.

What should my child bring to the actiivity?
- Hat, insect repellent, water bottle, small towel, slippers, sunblock, and a change of clothes. Wear shorts or trousers that can be rolled up to the knees.
