This event is a Fundraiser to help out Chantel Bardens friend that moved from Strathmore with her new family and has now found herself in a financial struggle, no husband and two small children. Colours N' Corks will donate $25 from the sale of each ticket to help out this now single mother. We have personally been touched by this story and we are happy to help out in our community. Please join us for a night of laughs and know that you are all part of a great community as well. This event is open to the public, so grab all your friends and come join the fun. (Please see the full story below)

Chantel Barden is raising funds for her friend in desperate need of financial support at this trying time.
She has a young baby, (not even a year old!), and a 6 year old daughter.
She was left abruptly by her husband (of less than a year) on Christmas Eve, (CHRISTMAS EVE PEOPLE) leaving her with all the family bills and debt to take care of.

This "man" has not attempted any sort of reconciliation, nor even made sure the welfare of his family, ESPECIALLY his young child, was properly taken care of. He hasn't even seen the sweet little thing since!! I know there are two sides to every story...but seriously, who can just walk out and stop contact like that, regardless of your relationship with the mother/father.
She was on EI (we all know this isn't much, even less if this is the only source of income in a family household), that has recently been ended. Literally leaving her with bills to pay and no proper income to cover...borrowing from family only lasts so long. She has applied for all sorts of supports, and those take time..especially since a separation isn't legal until after 3 months. She is activities looking for work that pays enough to cover bills and childcare, which, lets be real, is EXTREMELY hard to find.
She is really trying to be upbeat, and looking to the future..but the ever piling up bills can only be pushed back so far. I fear she will end up homeless very soon...and because of the distance between us (Strathmore, Edmonton) there is only so much I personally can do.

It doesn't take much, just a little can help towards all the necessities until everything falls into place, help lessen the bill load, and help those little girls!
