SPRING OUTDOOR ADVENTURE SERIES:
Watch spring bloom and burst with color in this outdoor adventure series. Each week, we will hike and explore a different topic and trail. Learn some cool facts about nature along the way. Wear a comfortable paid of hiking boots and bring a water bottle. All hikes last between 90 minutes and two hours. Meet at the nature center. These hikes are free with park admission. Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure space is available. Call the nature center at (302) 655-5740 to register.
MAY 5 -- VERNAL POOLS HIKE:
Hear some of the different spring amphibian sounds. We will talk about species at Brandywine Creek, learn about research going on here and throughout the state, and then take a hike to our vernal pool to see what we can find.
MAY 12 -- FRESHWATER MARSH HIKE:
We will hike to our Freshwater Marsh Preserve, learn about the animals that live there, do some water testing, and learn how valuable the ecosystem is and how we can protect it.
MAY 26 -- LONG WALL TRAIL HIKE:
Take a trip with us and hike our cool, rocky Long Wall Trail to celebrate Memorial Day! We will hike trails and hop big rocks on this unique 1.1-mile trail.
