Open to students in 3rd-12th grades. Join us to explore range, habitat, anatomy, life cycle, and host plants of the black swallowtail butterfly. In celebration of Earth Day, each participant will also learn how to make seed storage packets from magazine pages, upcycled seed starter pots, and create a butterfly feeder out of recyclable materials. Each participant will receive a few seeds from the cultivated host plants of black swallowtail butterflies to sow at home and attract this beautiful species to his or her yard.

Parents are required to assist their younger children during the creative portion of this program, especially with the use of hot glue guns.

Check-in begins at 10:20am with the program beginning promptly at 10:30am. The program will end at approximately 12:45-1pm.
