Please join NOFA-NJ at Brick Farm Market for another terrific book club. On Tuesday, April 10, we will be discussing Edward Humer's Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash.

Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, Edward Humes takes a deep look into our largest export and greatest legacy: our trash. Humer investigates what is in our trash, how much we pay for it, where it goes, how we create so much waste, and how some communities are turning trash into prosperity. Humer tells his story through some unexpected denizens: trash-tracking detectives at MIT, bull-dozer operators of Los Angeles, artists residing in San Francisco's dump, and a family whose annual trash output fits into a single mason jar.

Garbology is not only about waste output, it is also an investigation into society at large. Curbing waste is one easy method for Americans to control environmental and economic harm and prosper in the process.
