Grab a bunch of mates and hit the dance floor with Australian party machine Tomas Ford for Brighton Fringe's most ridiculous party. Start thinking of those crap music requests now. Tomas Ford knows his crap. In fact, he makes a living out of it.
Born and bred in Perth, Australia's self-described 'King of Alt-Cabaret' (i.e. someone who does weird things on stage for money) last brought the show here to the Brighton Fringe in 2015, a DJ set in which he plays some of the most "brilliantly awful music" known to man. He spins it while projecting ravetastic videos, donning Poundland-level costumes, flashing DIY hardware store lights and generally making sure he is the biggest idiot in the room so nobody else runs that risk.
The rules are simple: request any song you like, and so long as it fulfils the criteria - i.e. is really, really crap - then Tomás will drop it like it’s the deepest, trendiest coloured vinyl at an art student’s warehouse party.
Pile into the Brighton Spiegeltent with your crap pop requests at the ready, or post them on the Facebook event wall beforehand. Mel & Kim! Daphne & Celeste! PJ & Duncan! Dario G! Darude! DJ Sammy! A-ha! A-Teens! A.B.C! S Club 7! East 17! A1! Rednex! Take That! Bay City Rollers! Gloria Estefan! Aqua! Britney! Jessica Simpson! Psy! Eurovision! Foreigner! Maroon 5! Bon Jovi! Bee Jees! Olivia Newton John! Patrick Hernandez! Ace Of Base! All eras! All total garbage!
If any of those sound like they might be your jam at 1am, come, grab a bunch of mates and get crazy with Tomas. You’re safe here.
