Originating from deep south Louisiana USA, Cajun music is dance music whether played in the dancehall, during Mardi-Gras, on the back porch or in the Spiegeltent!
Let the band take you on a transatlantic journey and transport you to the bayous of Louisiana, with the beautiful melodies of the accordion playing a traditional Cajun two step or waltz mixed with their foot stomping swamp blues and Zydeco.
Allons Danser is a good time dance for everybody, you can two step, swing, jive, jitterbug, waltz or what ever you like, just take to the floor and let the good times roll y’all.
Haven’t been to Cajun dance before? You can learn a few steps on the evening, or maybe brush up or try some new moves in our pre-dance workshop and then grab yourself a cocktail, beer or bourbon to complete that South Louisiana party experience.
The evening starts with the dance workshop showing the basics of a Cajun waltz, two step and Jitterbug before the evening unfolds with Rough Chowder and Cajun DJ’s promising great music, dance and fun.
Rough Chowder are a Cajun band from the UK singing in Cajun French and English. They combine traditional Cajun and Zydeco music with their own original material, to produce a highly danceable and infectious sound guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.
Laissez bon temps rouler!
