//Raffles, giveaways, reuse, recycling, & more!//
A one-day recycling celebration by non-profit GrowNYC will offer NYC residents electronics recycling, clothing collection, and a Stop ‘N’ Swap® community reuse event. Event partners include ecycleNYC, refashionNYC, BronxWorks, and NYC Department of Sanitation.
GrowNYC’s zero waste programs funded by the NYC Department of Sanitation and NYCHA Environmental Ambassadors will educate the public with a fun recycling game, and distribute free Sort & Store recycling bags (while supplies last). Participants will have a chance to win one of 100 Fresh Food Boxes filled with fresh, local, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Participants can reduce and reuse at the Stop ‘N’ Swap, where they may bring or take clean, portable, reusable items such as clothing, shoes, housewares, books, toys, and more. Unwanted electronics (cell phones, computers, printers, TVs, etc.) will be collected for recycling through the ecycleNYC program, and excess clothing and textiles will be donated to refashionNYC, both programs of the NYC Department of Sanitation.
