Since winning the First Prize in the 2004 UNISA International Piano Competition, American pianist SPENCER MYER has appeared six times in South Africa, in tours of recital and orchestral appearances. These include the performance of the five Beethoven Piano Concerti with the Chamber Orchestra of South Africa, the two Ravel Concerti with the KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Philharmonic Orchestras, and solo recitals in the major venues of Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban and numerous other South African artistic centres. A native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and the Juilliard School, Spencer Myer has established a long and respected career as a recitalist, concerto soloist, lieder accompanist and chamber musician, performing in London's Wigmore Hall, New York's Weill and Zankel Recital Halls of Carnegie Hall and the Seoul Arts Centre of Korea. He is currently on the Piano and Collaborative Piano Faculty of Boston's Longy School of Music of Bard College.
