According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Kidney, known as the Minister of Power, is the powerhouse of the body, supplying reserve energy to any organ running low on Qi (life force). Kidneys work to flush out waste in the body so that blood can effectively nourish the cells. When we hold stress in the spine, hips, and legs, we need to release through those joints so the energy associated with the kidney meridians can flow freely. Once these energetic pathways are clear, we feel more vibrant, confident, and calm.

The Bladder, the Guardian of Peace, is the kidney’s partner organ. When there are blockages in the Meridians of the Kidneys and/or Bladder, not only can our mental state feel out of whack (anxiety, confusion, dullness) but we are susceptible to imbalances in the reproductive and urinary systems, as well as to discomfort in the back, neck, and throat areas.

To balance the energy flow of the kidney and bladder meridians, our YIN shapes will focus on spinal rotation - flexion - extension, & hips and hamstrings. The practice will end with a silent meditation. $25
