In what is surely the most Inner West thing ever to come out of the Inner West, Marrickville’s Bucket Boys and Dulwich Hill’s The Sausage Factory are to shortly to launch their collab beer the Bucket Boys ‘Sausage Queen’ Boss Ale.
The beer itself is the product of a long gestation process involving the respective beer and sausage masterminds of The Bucket Boys and ‘The Sausage Factory. Its intention is to produce a beer that (a bit like its creators) is looking to do something unique and not easily categorisable while remaining approachable, accessible and extremely sessionable.
Named after Chrissy’s Cuts founder and co-owner of The Sausage Factory, Sydney’s ‘Sausage Queen’ Chrissy Flanagan, the beer pays tribute to all unconventional bosses and sausage queens alike.
We’re also doing a very limited run of a new ‘Boss Saus’ sausage especially for the launch. Taking paddock to plate (or maybe grain to glass) to pretty considerable extremes, we’ve created a new sausage using a special batch of lambs from Down To Earth Produce that fed on the grains used in the brewing of the beer, while also incorporating barley, coriander and dried apricot, to work off and compliment the dominant flavours of the beer. Oh and did we mention the food is free!
