The 2017 Dirty Dozen Bike Race will take place Saturday, November 25th, this year from the Bud Harris Cycling Track in Pittsburgh, PA. This will be the 35th running event which started back in 1983. The Dirty Dozen bike race is my Uncle’s premier event which he puts his pride and soul into each year. Cyclist’s will take on the 13 steepest hills in Pittsburgh ranging from 1/4 mile-1-mile length and 20-37% grades! This race is more important than ever for my Uncle now because even though he cannot compete in it anymore, his mind is strong and can inspire people to conquer this event. This race is unique because you race from bottom to top of each hill, kind of like Strava segments, but these are real KOMs.
