Talk/Workshop on May Folklore and Customs from Co. Wexford plus a demonstration into how to Decorate a May Bush
with artist/folklorist Michael Fortune.
Following on from the success of last years ‘Wexford May Bush Festival’ Michael Fortune and Aileen Lambert (from folklore.ie) are spearheading a community driven festival based around The May Bush. In the lead up to May Eve they are presenting a series of free public talks and workshops in Wexford Libraries in a bid to raise awareness of this particular Wexford tradition. They invite individuals and communities to attend so that they can learn more and participate by erecting their own May Bush in their own village, community, townsland or home. For the hands-on workshop people are encouraged to bring along their own egg-shells, ribbons, and small bunches of flowers.

Booking recommended, please telephone 053 9375466 to book a place.
