Come out and support your Burn Boot Camp Tega Cay Community!
On Saturday, May 19, 2018 we will be hosting a 3 hour "burn-a-thon" at Burn Boot Camp. There are three 45 minute FUN workout sessions. You can participate in 1 camp, 2 camps or all three! Burn for Brax is our locations biggest fundraiser. We raise funds for DSF, Dravet Syndrome Foundation, where 100% of the proceeds go to Dravet Syndrome Research. This is our third year raising funds with our totals for the past two years exceeding $45,000!! Isn't that incredible?!
You may be asking... What is Dravet Syndrome? It is a chromosome disorder that results in a rare and catastrophic form of Epilepsy. A Fort Mill resident, Braxton Ried suffers from this terrible disorder. Some of you may know his mother, Misty! She is quite a presence in the area and a former BBC member. At 7 months of age, Braxton was airlifted to Levine Children’s Hospital due to a prolonged uncontrollable seizure. Since then his seizure activity increased. At the time of diagnosis he was 16 months old and there were only 900 documented cases in the world. By the time Braxton was 5 years old he had been on a ventilator 11 times. He currently is on 5 different antiepileptic medication. There is no cure, he will not outgrow these seizures and there is no surgery to "fix" Dravet Syndrome.
Registration for the event is $30. Use coupon code %OFF to save $5 through April 14. Invite your friends & family! Open to everyone!
