JOIN US FOR AN EVENING OF COMMUNITY STORYTELLING
Storytelling is about sharing strength, struggle, culture, and power. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) invites you to a night of storytelling. Thirteen Health Rising fellows will share a personal narrative that emerged from workshops on transformational leadership and Moth* inspired storytelling. Their stories will lift up personal narratives from the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities as a strategy to inspire action for health equity.
*The Moth approach is about every day people authentically telling a story from their lives in a live setting.
ABOUT THE HEALTH RISING LEADERSHIP INSITUTE
The shifting political will related to health equity combined with recent events and narratives that highlight the continued need to address racial equity is requiring Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) advocates to be even more visible and increasingly grounded in their leadership. Health Rising is an experiential leadership program created for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) leaders wanting to lead meaningful change for themselves, their organizations and the communities they love. Its aim is to cultivate a national cadre of AA and NHPI storyteller leaders who will lead and inspire the movement for health equity.
We are seeking to grow the collective AA and NHPI communities’ voice, leadership infrastructure, and ultimately… power.
Help us share the love of storytelling with our communities and grow the Health Rising Leadership Institute! Suggested donation at the door: $5.
