Mary Zimmerman’s “Metamorphoses,” based on Ovid’s myths, is set in and around a pool of water. It includes tales of transformation featuring figures such as King Midas, Narcissus and Orpheus and Eurydice and themes of love, suffering, loss and redemption. Ultimately the stories are about change and these changes occur by the water, in the water and through the water. Directed by Robyn Ernst and Jo Hendrie and Choreographed by Melissa Lanham. Additional Choreography Libbie Hendrie. Performed by BYTE Theatre Company Master Class Actors and emerging artists.
The performance will take place in the heated smaller pool at the Buderim Aquatic Centre on 44 Main St Buderim. Parking available. The acting area is enclosed and has a roof so METAMORHOSES will be an all weather event. Patrons sitting near the pool will be issued with rain ponchos. It is recommended that if patrons wish, they can bring their own blankets for their personal comfort.
