On April 6, come learn how to do drag from a student performer. Makeup and ~wigs~ will be provided, or you can bring your own! This event will take place in the Cabot dance studio.
Miss Annie Thang (Trevor Ladner) began her drag career in 2015 as a high schooler on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, making national headlines for her vibrant performance style and LGBTQ+ community activism which culminated in a locally-viral video created for a scholarship at Tulane University, eventually factoring into her acceptance in Harvard's Class of 2020, where Trevor concentrates in Sociology with a secondary in African American Studies. In 2017, Trevor was featured on McClatchy’s Out Here in America podcast and the Human Rights Campaign’s #LoveYour Neighbor video series, platforms which share the underrepresented stories of Southern LBGTQ+ folks, particularly from rural areas. He continues to reckon with his queerness, whiteness, and Southern-ess as the co-founder and president of Southerners Organizing Urgent Transformation Through Harvard College (SOUTTH), a campus organization concerned with intersectional issues of justice in the American South as well as nuanced narratives of the region to promote national transformation.
