We are now officially supporting seven MAMAs so please join us for an evening of tasty food and beautiful music as we celebrate the beginnings of what will be a wonderful adventure.
We support pregnant women who are refugees and seeking asylum. We link women with specialist birth companions and a peer network for support throughout pregnancy, childbirth and in early parenting.
We will be whipping up a delicious meal out of saved ingredients, delighting your earbuds with a number of performers and even throwing in a raffle with some extra excitement. Come and meet the team, hear a bit more about the project and help us mark the launch of this much needed service.
The wonderful Hands of the Heron have eagerly agreed to perform on the night, a fledgling folk collective from Bristol. With tight vocal harmonies at the core, they weave stories of love, loss and regeneration into vivid melodies layered with mandolin, flute, accordion, clarinet and anything else they can get their hands on.
We are suggesting a donation of £5 to come along, with an extra donation for the delicious food on offer. Of course, if you would like to donate more everything goes a long way in helping the project thrive in it's early days.
There will also be a very reasonably priced, cash only bar, so bring your pocket money!
Entry is free for refugees, asylum-seekers or those with uncertain immigration status, as well as our amazing Project MAMA volunteers.
