The Survivor Story Showcase is a community performance event that explores the resilience of the sexual violence survivor. Thru dynamic storytelling: theater, poetry, prose, dance, song, and visual art, survivors explore and share their healing power. Over 12 artists will share their diverse experiences healing from the trauma of sexual assault and domestic violence. Audience members will be invited to participate in integrative healing arts such as body work, Reiki, acupuncture and yoga, food and an accompanying visual arts display. The event will center the experience of the survivor, while also offering a container for audiences to safely process the content of the show.
The event takes place in April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and will bring light to the integrative healing activities program at the New Orleans Family Justice Center.
Wednesday April 25th 6-9pm
