We know that many in the NW view the church as either “behind the times” or “carrying racial baggage” when it comes to the work of racial reconciliation. And the truth is, Sunday mornings are often still segregated. But what if our churches became known for a different witness, one in which the gospel is making a tangible impact on uniting all people under the lordship of Jesus? Our churches must be equipped and willing to engage in the ever-thorny issues of racism, segregation, and reconciliation. We must be aware of our own history (both personally and as the church) and begin to skillfully use our gospel influence to bring restoration, hope, and peace to Seattle’s fractured communities.
Leaders, we want to help equip you to lead these conversations in your churches and communities.
