The Visitor is a comedy with a dark twist. It is a fly on the wall look into an average night out for two young girls, Caz (19) and Shell (18). It's 1981, a time before mobile phones and social media. Going to the laundrette was commonplace and McDonalds was a new and exciting place to meet. The future for these two naive young girls is filled with enthusiasm and both are optimistic for the journey ahead.

Living for the moment Caz and Shell find themselves part of the New Romantic movement, introduced to drugs, alcohol and fancy dressing. This witty and charming play is full of singing, drinking and lots of laughter emphasising the girl's youth and vulnerability.

However, the arrival of an unwanted visitor turns an otherwise normal night into a different place for Caz, Shell and the audience when things spiral out of control.

The Visitor takes you back to the 80s for a nostalgic moment in time. You will laugh with Caz and Shell while they get ready to hit the town but be prepared for a change in emotion as a turn of events takes them down a very different path that could change their lives forever.

The play highlights themes of drug abuse, naivety and vulnerability in young adults. These themes are timeless, so even though it is set nearly 40 years ago it rings true today.

27 & 28 April, 7.30PM.
