Join us for this Music on the Murray event that will see one of Australia’s most beloved returning to his home town for a special one-off event.

John Butler spent his childhood in Pinjarra playing on the banks of the Murray River. In 1998, the frontman of folk rock-roots threesome, the John Butler Trio, went onto busking on the streets of Fremantle which led to 3,500 self-funded cassette sales and John becoming one of Australia’s most successful independent artists.

The success didn’t stop there and continues today with the John Butler Trio travelling worldwide for iconic festivals such as the Fuji Rock Festival, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Big Day Out, and Coachella where Bruce Fessier of USA Today said “John Butler revealed himself to be arguably the finest guitarist at Coachella Festival”.

The John Butler Trio’s popularity continues to grow internationally with the Trio spending 2017 touring globally with sold out shows in Minneapolis, Grand Rapids, Salt Lake City, Vancouver, Asheville and more.

If that isn’t enough, John also has a successful solo career with his very first release in 2016 titled ‘Searching for Heritage’ which relates to his early years of busking and selling cassettes at the famous Fremantle Markets.

This humble and relaxed performer is returning to Pinjarra for this intimate one-off event. Tickets will be limited so make sure you get in early and not miss out on this rare opportunity to hear the music of this iconic artist in his hometown.

Ahead of John, we will hear the sounds of Ricky Green (featuring Adam Springhetti. Ricky being a singer/songwriter originating from the SW coastal region of Western Australia. Known best for his silky smooth vocals and warm catchy songs, he spends the majority of his time divided between the stage and ocean. His debut EP, released in 2012, was the first taste of his heartfelt and subtle brand of surf folk. Ricky has recently cemented his style with a second EP "These Are The Good Old Days". His eager persistence and undoubted talent have earned him spots supporting artists such as Husky, Donovan Frankenreiter and Cloud Control.
