VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE CAPE WILDLIFE CENTER

ORIENTATION SATURDAY APRIL 7 1PM

Volunteers are an integral part of achieving our mission of caring for wildlife in need, teaching others about wildlife and wildlife issues, and encouraging humane stewardship of wildlife. Volunteers at the center all come from unique backgrounds and bring with them specific skill sets. Cape Wildlife Center can use them all. Volunteer hours equal dollars to the organization and significantly offset the revenue we need to generate yearly.

Cape Wildlife Center on 4011 Main Street West Barnstable is looking for volunteers who have an interest in any of the following fields:

Direct animal care

Facilities/Grounds maintenance, repair, landscaping, gardening

Animal Husbandry: rehabilitation, feeding, animal enrichment, enclosure cleaning

Gift shop

Education: in- house and outreach

Administration: mailing, data entry,

Events/fundraising

Grant Writing: experience required

IT: experience required

Public Relations: experience required

We ask that volunteers commit to at least one 4-hour shift per week. We use volunteers seven days a week 9-5pm. Every day will be different and will be a learning experience. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic. Currently there are about 90 seasoned volunteers at the wildlife center in many different positions. You will be joining a wonderful team of staff and volunteers all working together to save wildlife on Cape Cod.
