"Musical Passport: Stories From Around the World"
Join the PSO and Assistant Conductor Chad Goodman for an afternoon of musical adventure perfect for kids of all ages. We will travel to Spain with exciting selections from Georges Bizet’s Carmen, witness a beautiful Moroccan Sunrise in Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt, and visit a charming Italian village in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
Also featured will be the First Prize winner of the Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition (Catherine Huang). The Competition is the legacy of Marilyn Mindell, who worked tirelessly for arts education on the Peninsula, and we are proud to have hosted the Competition for the past twelve years.
At 2:15 we will be featuring the winners of the junior portion of the Competition. These fine young pianists will each be performing their competition piece prior to the symphony concert.
Best of all, this afternoon of fantastic music and musicians is FREE! Be sure and make reservations today so you don’t miss out on this wonderful event.
